Opening evening : Friday 10th of May , 6pm at 38 Carrington Street , Nottingham NG1 7FG . More info and link to free tickets via Eventbrite. I’ll have a selection of refreshments on offer too!

In this exhibition I showcase a selection of architectural projects in and around Nottingham in which I give a flavour of the varied urban landscape within the city. These photographs I present have been made between December 2018 and February 2019 – so represent a very recent view of the city’s developments.

Looking to the past – Home Brewery designed by Cecil Howitt off to the north of the city in Daybrook , and Greek influenced housing along Park Row from Peter Frederick Robinson being highlights. The Grade II listed Boots Store on Pelham Street by Albert Bromley takes centre stage in the middle of Nottingham with its Art Nouveau influences.

I also look at a series of more current day projects – the Lenton Gardens development by JTP Placemaking documents the evolution of social housing – replacing a series of high rise buildings.

The University of Nottingham in particular has seen a massive expansion with many recent projects being commissioned as the University expands its facilities. Highlights include Cripps Health Centre, being one of the largest GP practices designed by CPMG , Benoy’s Institute of Mental Health and the Centre for Research Acceleration and Demonstration by Lewis and Hickey.
