I've had the pleasure of working with Lamar for over a year in my capacity as Photography Editor at LeftLion magazine. From my first introduction to his work as a contributor to our regular photography feature (LeftEyeOn), I've been consistently impressed with the quality and ingenuity of his work.
Under a written brief he is able to produce high quality work that fulfils the criteria of the instruction but also goes that extra bit further in capturing creative images, going above and beyond basic requirements.

I requested Lamar’s help to create a conceptual shot for a new theatre show. Having worked with him before on a couple of projects I already knew he was highly professional and had a dedication to producing shots of a high quality.

Lamar’s understanding of the brief was spot on, and he came fully prepared for the types of shot we needed to take. As I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to photography, I always feel reassured when working with Lamar that he will know how to realize a vision, using the relevant photographic techniques.

He provides a highly professional service, with a prompt turn around from shoot to finished result. I am incredibly pleased with the end result and will be hiring Lamar again!

I worked with Lamar recently in mid-May for a Battle of the Bands my society hosted at Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms. I really enjoyed working with Lamar, the quality of his work is of very high standard and he has a very friendly and professional attitude towards the work. He was very constructive in his approach, giving me the opportunity to view and give my opinion on the sorts of photography I wanted, and I was able to leave him to in in full confidence that he knew exactly what he was doing and that he would bring out the best of the event on camera. We commissioned Lamar to take photographs of our Physics Open Day at the University of Nottingham in June 2012. I was absolutely delighted with the results. We had over 1500 members of the public visit our department in a single day, and Lamar really captured the atmosphere of the event and the enthusiasm of our students. He took some great action shots of complex laboratory experiments, and dozens of wonderful candid photos of our students and members of the public interacting and touring our facilities.
At all times Lamar was relaxed, friendly and very easy to work with.

Lamar was very responsive in terms of our needs. Our luminaria are very photogenic but getting an unusually good photo requires two things:

- Adaptability - Lamar was adaptable to the outdoor conditions and was able to photograph the structure in optimum light conditions.

- Skill - Lamar has a good eye and was prepared to spend the time and engage with the work in order to get original shots. Creativity allied with his technical mastery meant we had some decent images to put in our new book.
