My background is reading a degree Mathematical Physics , while since working as an archivist in a seed library. This is perhaps an unusual background from which to start making pictures! But it has given me an excellent foundation in terms of defining , analysing and solving problems – with creativity. (I figured I was better though at being creative though not so good at trying to get into the head of Einstein , Leibniz et al!). I discuss how I apply this background to make images which tell stories and get people looking at the things my clients do below:

I then experiment during the shoot , constantly tweaking until I converge on a final outcome , constantly learning things , and readjusting until the end result matches the vision me and my clients have agreed together. I enjoy improvising in order to come up with a final result through understanding and pushing the limits of my equipment using my imagination! The Leftlion cover in the title page was made of seven different photographs merged together!

With an extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom in particular the vision is then realised through intelligent application of post-processing techniques with this software.

The end result is visually arresting and compelling imagery which tells stories of things people do in a very unique and distinctive way!
